The purpose of this study is to suggest strategies for the implementation and usage of institutional knowledge repositories in academic institutes/organizations. It suggests a taxonomy for a B-School (SFIMAR) for the preservation of E-resources and archiving of organizational knowledge using open-source software (DSpace). Knowledge repositories serve as a solution to digital preservation which helps in preservation and retrieval tasks. This paper will guide organizations and academic institutions to develop and manage knowledge repositories which make information retrieval for research, accreditation and quality management efficient and simpler. It helps the readers and knowledge/information managers to better understand the issues related to maintaining digital repositories and how SFIMAR has tackled to overcome these issues. Keywords
